Moissanite is a lab grown gemstone that has a natural counterpart but is not large, pure, or common enough for most uses. First synthesized in 1893 by Dr. Henri Moissan, it has stood the test of time as a viable diamond simulant. Moissanite possesses both a higher refractive index and higher dispersion than a Diamond, resulting in a higher brilliance. Available in both colorless and colored, moissanite is sure to dazzle. With a hardness of 9.25 on the Mohs scale, it is sure to retain a polish for generations. Although a lab grown gemstone, it is truly a gem within its own right.
